DIY Easter Treat Jars
Easter for me is one of my favourite seasons not only because of all the Easter eggs but also because of the cute crafts I like to make and the pastel colours. I wanted to create a different type of gift you can make and give to some this Easter instead of a shop-bought Easter egg. These treat jars are really cheap and simple to make and are perfect for an Easter party or to give to friends and family as you can customise them for each person. You don’t have to use the jars for sweets you could also use them as storage or put little treats and toys in them for an Easter gift jar.
I am absolutely in love with the little lamb jars after my little getaway to the Yorkshire Dales last weekend. Seeing all the little lambs in the fields.. they were so cute!
YOU WILL NEED
Jars (whatever kind you like)
Spring/Easter plastic animal figurines
Acrylic paint – I mixed my colours but you can buy pre –mixed colours
Any type of brush
Hot glue or any other strong glue
Mini eggs or any other Easter sweets
- First mix your colours; I used crimson and white to create the pastel pink and green, blue and white for the mint.
- Then paint the lids of the jars. You will need to let it dry between coats. I painted about 4 thin coats. Acrylic paint dries quickly so it should take about 15 minutes all together to paint and dry the lids.
- Next glue your plastic animal figurines to the top of the lids adding a small amount of glue the base of the figurines and let dry.
- Finally add your sweet treats to the jar and add any embellishments you want to decorate the jar. I decorated the jars with ribbon and Easter gift tags and natural raffia ribbon too. You can really decorate them however you want and can add lots of personal touches.
