DIY Abstract Art
I love this DIY project as it is so simple and anyone can do it, also you only need a few materials. I made this for our living room as I wanted a huge piece of statement art. It looks amazing and fits the space perfectly. You can use any colours you want to customise it to fit your colour scheme.
-Selection of acrylic paints (I used 6 different colours)
-Large paint brushes
-Pot of water
-Plastic painting palette
I started off with the colours I wanted to the most dominant in the piece which were the blue tones. I randomly places long dashes of the paint onto the canvas overlapping some to create different tones. You want to use thick layers of paint as acrylic paint drys quickly which means the colours won’t blend in the final step. Also one of the paint colours needs to be white as this will be the colour used at the end to blend everything together.
I then added the other colours using the same techniques.
I kept going filling the canvas until there was only small spaces of white canvas left.
I then went and added some white paint to my paint brush, moving it across in long motions blending the colours together. At times I felt I lost the dominate colours so I added some more coloured paint to the canvas and then blended it again.
Here is the outcome!!! I am so happy with it and love it so much. I wanted to share this with you all as I know how expensive it can be to buy a large piece of art. So this is an inexpensive way to create that piece of art you want, It amazing as it is completely customisable.
I hope you like this DIY project and would love to see you try this. As always leave any feedback for me in the comments or send me a private message.
SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!!! 🙂
